Yes, the connection to the fiber optic network of Open Dutch Fiber is free. Except for a number of addresses where a connection fee is requested. These are often addresses located outside the village or city center and/or have longer distances from the street to the house. You can check the situation at your address via the postcode check on the website. Sometimes only after the survey we find out that additional costs need to be incurred for the installation, for example, for a house that we did not yet know is far from the road. In that case, costs may be charged for the connection. Of course, we will discuss this with you. There are additional costs associated with the subscription to a provider, but you pay those costs directly to the provider.

After the fiber optic cable has been brought into your house and terminated with a fiber optic connection point, and you have subscribed to a service with a provider, you will receive a message from the provider for the installation of services. Once the technician has installed the router and activated your fiber optic subscription, you can immediately start using the super-fast fiber optic network. If you are not yet a customer with a provider but still want to use the super-fast fiber optic internet, please contact a provider that offers services over our network.

Sometimes we do this up to the property line, and sometimes you will already receive a fiber optic connection. This varies depending on the type of housing and location: - Single-family home: In some places, the fiber optic connection is not directly connected to the home, but is installed up to the property line.  

When you subscribe to a provider, we will install the fiber optic connection point in your home for free. - Duplex and apartment buildings: In some cases, a fiber optic connection point may not be installed in the home. Residents of these buildings will receive a free connection point once one person in the building subscribes. Agreements will be made with your landlord or Homeowners' Association. - High-rise buildings: We will make agreements with your landlord or Homeowners' Association regarding connecting all units in the building.  

Regardless of whether you subscribe to a plan, you will receive a free fiber optic connection point in your home. Sometimes it is hidden in the wall until you subscribe to a plan. 

We will pass on this information to the party that will be responsible for installing the fiber optic connections in your building. In most cases, when installing fiber optic cable in your garden, there is no digging in your garden. The fiber optic cable is drilled underground from the property line to your home.
