If you have fiber optic from Open Dutch Fiber, you will want to know how to get online. Good news: if your home is connected, you can choose which fiber optic provider to sign up for an internet subscription with. But how does that work exactly? Which providers are there? And what should you pay attention to? We asked Nikita Mostovoy, partner manager at Open Dutch Fiber. He explains what you can expect.
You choose your own provider
Open Dutch Fiber is building the network, but does not sell internet itself. So, you choose a provider that suits you. "We want residents to really have something to choose from," says Nikita. "That's why we provide an open network with multiple providers." This way, you can decide for yourself which subscription, speed, and service suit your situation.

Which providers work with Open Dutch Fiber?
"We work together with various providers, so that there is a suitable choice for everyone," says Nikita. Think of well-known names such as Odido and Freedom Internet. Depending on your address, there may be more providers available at times."

In some areas, it starts with one provider.
In some areas, the network is initially only available for one provider, usually Odido. After a certain period (often a year), the network is automatically opened up to multiple providers. "We sometimes start with one party to build the network properly," explains Nikita. "Then more choices will naturally follow." Once new providers are available, you can switch if you want to.
How do you subscribe to a subscription?
Is your house connected? Then you can directly subscribe to a subscription. Sometimes you will receive mail from a provider about this, but you can also contact the provider of your choice yourself.
Let's focus on choosing:
the internet speed you need;
if you also want TV and/or telephone;
the price and duration of the subscription;
Service and installation options.
"Not every provider offers the same," says Nikita. "It's wise to compare carefully."
