Nearly 3000 households in Duivendrecht provided with fiber optic
In Duivendrecht, almost 3000 households will have access to superfast internet via fiber optic from Open Dutch Fiber. The first households are already using internet via fiber optic with upload and download speeds of up to 1 Gigabit per second (Gbps) since December 2022. Open Dutch Fiber is once again connecting a large area to fiber optic, making a substantial contribution to further digitalization of the Netherlands.
The activities are being carried out under the leadership of Open Dutch Fiber in the neighborhoods Duivendrecht and Biesbosch. The first households have been using fiber optic since December 2022.

"Fast internet via reliable fiber optic connections is essential for the Netherlands and necessary for many (future) applications such as remote working and healthcare. Open Dutch Fiber is building an open fiber optic network to provide everyone in the Netherlands access to the best telecom infrastructure", says Floris van de Broek, CEO of Open Dutch Fiber. "By closely collaborating with municipalities, housing associations, and owners' associations, we are able to realize our projects faster."
