Fiber optic network construction has now also started in Rotterdam Feijenoord

Rotterdam Feijenoord is the fourth district in Rotterdam to get access to free fiber optic. Open Dutch Fiber will connect another 34,000 addresses to fiber optic. The addresses are spread across the districts of Katendrecht, Feijenoord, Afrikaanderwijk, Hillesuis, Bloemhof, and Vreewijk. The work will start in May 2023. From September 2023, the first households and entrepreneurs can use the internet via fiber optic.

Open Dutch Fiber is working on the rollout of fiber optic to over 2 million addresses by 2025. This will provide more and more households with access to super-fast internet via a fiber optic connection with upload and download speeds of up to 1 Gigabit per second.

High-quality and reliable fiber optic connections

“Fast internet through reliable fiber optic connections are essential for the Netherlands and necessary for many (future) applications such as remote working and healthcare. Open Dutch Fiber is building an open fiber optic network to provide everyone in the Netherlands access to the best telecom infrastructure”, says Floris van de Broek, CEO of Open Dutch Fiber.
