Another 18,000 households in Amsterdam will receive fiber optic
Open Dutch Fiber will offer fiber optic to even more Amsterdam households. In total, over 18,000 Amsterdam households will soon be able to make use of this. It is expected that from July 2023 they will have access to superfast internet via fiber optic with upload and download speeds of up to 1 Gigabit per second (Gbps). Open Dutch Fiber is once again connecting a large area to fiber optic and thus making a substantial contribution to the further digitalization of the Netherlands.
Works start in April 2023
The total of 18,000 households are located in the neighborhoods Transvaalbuurt, Frankendael, Middenmeer, and Betondorp. The works started in April 2023 and residents were informed about these works by Open Dutch Fiber.
High-quality and reliable fiber connections
“Fast internet via reliable fiber connections are essential for the Netherlands and necessary for many (future) applications such as remote working and healthcare. Open Dutch Fiber is laying an open fiber network to provide everyone in the Netherlands access to the best telecom infrastructure”, says Floris van de Broek, CEO of Open Dutch Fiber.
