Also Amsterdam Oud-West will be connected to the fiber optic network of ODF
Another 23,500 addresses in Amsterdam will be connected to the fiber optic network of Open Dutch Fiber. Residents in Oud-West will soon have access to super fast internet via a fiber optic connection with upload and download speeds of up to 1 Gigabit per second. It is expected that the first addresses will be able to use internet via fiber optic from the end of July. The work started in June 2023.
Open Dutch Fiber is working on the rollout of fiber optic to over 2 million addresses by 2025. With Amsterdam Oud-West, Open Dutch Fiber is once again connecting a large area to fiber optic, making a substantial contribution to further digitalization of the Netherlands.
High-quality and reliable fiber optic connections
"Fast internet through reliable fiber optic connections is essential for the Netherlands and necessary for many (future) applications such as remote working and remote healthcare. Open Dutch Fiber is building an open fiber optic network to provide everyone in the Netherlands access to the best telecom infrastructure", says Floris van de Broek, CEO of Open Dutch Fiber.
