Open Dutch Fiber offers fiber optic to 25,000 households in Delft.

Open Dutch Fiber will offer superfast internet via fiber optic in Delft-West. In November, Open Dutch Fiber will start the installation in the neighborhoods of Tanthof West, Tanthof East, Buitenhof, Voordijkshoorn, and Hof van Delft. In total, more than 25,000 households will be able to use superfast internet via fiber optic. The network is expected to be completed by early 2023.

Work will start in November 2021.

Open Dutch Fiber recently announced connections in various cities including Zoetermeer, Haarlem, Utrecht, Ridderkerk, Rotterdam Prins Alexander, and Leidschendam-Voorburg. Delft is now being added to the list. With the 25,000 households in Delf-West, Open Dutch Fiber is once again connecting a large urban area to fiber optic. The work will start in November and the first homes will be connected in early 2022. More projects outside Delft will be announced later this year.

On the way to 1,000,000 households

The installation of fiber optic in Delft is part of the plan presented by Open Dutch Fiber in April 2021 to connect at least one million households in the Netherlands to fiber optic over the next five years. Currently, work is already underway to connect a quarter of the intended number of households. They are focusing on urban areas where fiber optic is not yet available. In this way, Open Dutch Fiber is making a significant contribution to further digitization of the Netherlands. Open Dutch Fiber sees opportunities to further expand this ambition in the coming years by connecting even more households to fiber optic.
