Open Dutch Fiber provides fiber optic to 11,000 households in Voorschoten.
In Voorschoten, over 11,000 households will have access to super-fast internet via fiber optic from Open Dutch Fiber. It is expected that the first households can start using internet via fiber optic with speeds of up to 1 Gigabit per second (Gbps) from April 2023. Open Dutch Fiber is once again connecting a large area to fiber optic, making a significant contribution to the further digitalization of the Netherlands.
The work will start in January 2023 in the neighborhoods of Noord-Hofland, Adegeest, Krimwijk, Vlietwijk, Nassauwijk, Centrum, Bloemenwijk, Bijdorp, Starrenburg, and Boschgeest. Open Dutch Fiber will inform the residents about this in a timely manner.
High-quality and reliable fiber optic connections
Floris van den Broek, CEO of Open Dutch Fiber: "Approximately half of all Dutch people now have access to high-speed internet via fiber optic. Compared to other countries in Europe, we are lagging behind in this aspect. High-quality and reliable fiber optic connections are essential for the Netherlands and necessary for many applications such as remote working and healthcare."
