More than 33,000 households in Beverwijk and Heemskerk will receive fiber optic internet.
Open Dutch Fiber will offer superfast internet via fiber optic to more than 33,000 households in Beverwijk and Heemskerk. It is expected that the first households will be able to use internet via fiber optic with speeds of up to 1 Gigabit per second (Gbps) starting from June 2022. With this, Open Dutch Fiber is once again connecting a large area to fiber optic and making a significant contribution to the further digitalization of the Netherlands.
This is happening in Beverwijk in the neighborhoods of Centrum, Vondelkwartier, Prinsenhof, Warande, Kuenenplein, Westertuinen, Meerestein, Oosterwijk, and Zwaansmeer. In Heemskerk, these are Heemskerk-dorp, Commandeurs, Marquette, Hofland, Oosterwijk, Zuidbroek, Heemskerkerduin, Noorddorp, Poelenburg, Oosterzij, Noordbroek, De Trompet, Kerkbeek, Assumburg, Hoogdorp, and Waterakkers. The work will start in Beverwijk in April 2022 and in Heemskerk expectedly in May 2022. The first homes in Beverwijk will be connected in June 2022. In Heemskerk, this will happen after the construction holiday. Residents affected by the fiber optic installation works will be informed by Open Dutch Fiber.
High-quality and reliable fiber optic connections
Open Dutch Fiber only installs fiber optic in places where there is currently no fiber optic available, in order to ensure that the whole of the Netherlands has access to competitive services via fiber optic as soon as possible.
