Do the fiber check
Do I already have fiber at home?
Not sure if your home is already connected? You can check this yourself in your meter cupboard. Look for a turquoise cable coming into your home from the ground or wall. The connection point for fiber is a small, rectangular white box measuring approximately 10 centimeters. This is called the fiber box (also known as FTU).
If you see such a box, your home already has a fiber connection. All you need to do is choose a provider to use the connection.
Can't find a turquoise cable or white box? Then do the zip code check above. You will immediately see whether fiber is already available in your area or when installation is planned.

Which providers are available at your address?
Open Dutch Fiber is an open network. This means that multiple providers use our fiber infrastructure. You choose the provider that suits you best, based on price, speed, customer service, or a combination of internet and TV.
We install and manage the network. The providers deliver their services via our infrastructure. This gives you complete freedom of choice: you choose a provider, and if you want to switch to another one later, nothing changes in terms of the connection itself.
You can see which providers are available at your address immediately after the check. The following providers are on our network:
The ODF network in numbers
1.000.000+ addresses connected to our fiber network
1.500.000 households and businesses as rollout target
2021 year we started building in the Netherlands
We expand the network every week. Fiber is rolled out in phases per neighborhood, so we can guarantee a stable and future-proof connection everywhere.
When will I get fiber?
Fiber is rolled out in phases. We look at existing infrastructure and demand per neighborhood. Sometimes streets are right next to each other, but one is already scheduled and the other is not yet.
New build?
Moving into a new build property? Fiber is standard in most new build projects. Check with the developer whether Open Dutch Fiber is the network provider, or do the check on your postal code once you know it.
Want to know when your street is next? Read more in 'When will fiber be installed in my street?'.

First, you choose the internet speed. There are many speeds available from 100 Mbit/s to up to 8 Gbit/s, so there is always one that suits your situation.
Which internet speed suits you best?
· If you live and work at home with your partner and occasionally watch a movie, then 100Mbit/s is often enough.
· For a family that heavily uses the internet for work or streaming and wants to do so simultaneously, 400Mbit/s is sufficient.
· If you have a family and want to be able to work, download, stream, and game on multiple devices at the same time, then a speed of 1Gbit/s is more suitable.
You can easily test your current speed via www.speedtest.nl If you are satisfied with your current speed, then you choose the same speed. If you prefer something faster, then you opt for a faster package. By the way, if you want to adjust the speed in between, you can do it quickly and easily online most of the time. Additionally, lower speeds only offer a financial advantage of a few euros per month.
No, you are not required to take out a subscription. However, it does affect when we install a fiber connection in your home. If you take out a subscription, we install a fiber connection point in your home free of charge. If you live in a stairwell or duplex building, everyone in the building gets a connection point as soon as at least one resident takes out a subscription. If you live in a high-rise building, every resident gets a free fiber connection point regardless of whether anyone has a subscription. Sometimes we install it invisibly in the wall, until you take out a subscription. Use the postcode check to see what applies to your address.
Open Dutch Fiber constructs and manages the fiber optic network. We do not offer subscriptions. This is done by providers.
