Open Dutch Fiber has joined Fibre Council Europe, the leading European industry organization dedicated to the further development of fiber optic networks and digital connectivity. With this membership, Open Dutch Fiber underscores its commitment to open fiber networks and collaboration within the European telecom sector.

Paul Naastepad, CEO of Open Dutch Fiber:
“The strong alignment in principles and objectives between Fibre Council Europe and Open Dutch Fiber is striking. At ODF, we strive to achieve the ultimate open wholesale positioning of fibre networks to accelerate fibre adoption and further network development. With 10 active operators and 12 internet service providers now operating on our passive network, ODF demonstrates that this model works. Through our open wholesale model, we show that fibre infrastructure creates the greatest value when multiple service providers can serve their customers over a single network. By working together, we can build on this success and take the next steps towards further optimising the model, for example by revisiting the role of the active operator in the value chain. I look forward to involving the Council in this journey wherever possible.”
Vincent Garnier, Director General of Fibre Council Europe, welcomes the arrival of ODF:
"We are delighted to welcome Open Dutch Fiber as a member. Paul Naastepad, who was the first chairman of the Council in 2004, has been closely involved in our mission from the very beginning. ODF's experience with open-access networks brings a valuable perspective within our community. By sharing knowledge and expertise, we can jointly contribute to our mission to further shape Europe's digital future."
Membership of Fibre Council Europe provides Open Dutch Fiber with an international platform to exchange knowledge and contribute to discussions about the future of fibre infrastructure, open networks and digital connectivity in Europe.
