Open Dutch Fiber will now also offer super-fast internet via fiber optic in Assen. In total, over 17,000 households in Assen will soon be able to make use of it. The first households will have access to internet via fiber optic with upload and download speeds of up to 1 Gigabit per second (Gbps) starting from early 2023. Open Dutch Fiber is once again connecting a large area to fiber optic and thereby making a significant contribution to the further digitalization of the Netherlands.
Open Dutch Fiber signs Code of Conduct for Safe Construction of Digital Infrastructure
On 30 November 2023, Open Dutch Fiber signed the Code of Conduct for Safe Construction of Digital Infrastructure. With the Code of Conduct, we will work more closely with contractors and other telecom network managers and operators to promote safety in the construction of data and telecom networks.
Freedom of choice in fiber optic provider as ambition
Open Dutch Fiber attaches great importance to consumer choice. An open fiber network is crucial to achieve this. The open nature of the ODF network is therefore one of the cornerstones of the organization's success. Unlike other fiber networks, ODF is not an operator or provider itself, but instead provides all operators and thus providers in the Netherlands access to its fiber services.
