18,000 households in Heerlen Noord will receive fiber optic. The work in Heerlen-Noord started in September 2023. The neighborhoods Vrieheide, de Stack, Heerlerheide, Passart, Heksenberg, Rennemig, Beersdal, Zeswegerf, Nieuw Husken, Schanelen, Grasbroek, Meezenbroek, and Schaesbergerveld will be connected to the fiber optic network. We will inform the residents about the work.
Heerlen South
20,000 households in Heerlen Zuid will receive fiber optic. The neighborhoods Eikenderveld, Heerlen-Centrum, Molenberg, Bekkerveld, Wetten-Benzenrade, Caumerveld-Douve Weien, and Heerlerbaan will be provided with fiber optic. The work started in November 2022 and the first homes have already been connected. Residents will be informed about the installation process per neighborhood during the construction.

Another 18,000 households in Heerlen will receive fiber
In Heerlen-Noord, 18,000 households will have access to superfast internet via fiber optic from Open Dutch Fiber. It is expected that the first households can start using fiber optic internet from January 2024. Open Dutch Fiber is working on rolling out fiber optic to over 2 million addresses by 2025. This will provide more and more households with access to superfast internet through a fiber optic connection with upload and download speeds of up to 1 Gigabit per second.

20,000 households in Heerlen-Zuid will be provided with fiber
Open Dutch Fiber will now also offer super-fast internet via fiber optic in Heerlen-Zuid. In total, over 20,000 households in Heerlen-Zuid will soon have access to this offer. It is expected that the first households will be able to use internet via fiber optic with speeds of up to 1 Gigabit per second (Gbps) from April 2023.

Open Dutch Fiber signs Code of Conduct for Safe Construction of Digital Infrastructure
On 30 November 2023, Open Dutch Fiber signed the Code of Conduct for Safe Construction of Digital Infrastructure. With the Code of Conduct, we will work more closely with contractors and other telecom network managers and operators to promote safety in the construction of data and telecom networks.
