Open Dutch Fiber will now also offer superfast internet via fiber optic in Leiden-Zuid. In total, over 30,000 households in Leiden-Zuid will soon be able to make use of this. It is expected that the first households will have access to internet via fiber optic with speeds of up to 1 Gigabit per second (Gbps) starting from early 2023.

ODF and Liander join forces for sustainable infrastructure
On November 16, 2023, the grid operator Liander and ODF signed a collaboration agreement. This agreement establishes uniform work procedures for telecommunication and/or pipelines in project areas of ODF where Liander has energy infrastructure. Open Dutch Fiber is working hard to achieve the revised goal of 2 million home connections in 2025. One of the components to accelerate this goal is choosing the most suitable connection method for high-rise buildings. Each high-rise building is different. The diversity of buildings requires different ways of connecting. A time-consuming task. That is why four standards were developed by Open Dutch Fiber, in addition to fully customized solutions.
