In Waterland, almost 5,400 addresses will have access to the internet via fiber optic from Open Dutch Fiber. Open Dutch Fiber is once again connecting a large area to fiber optic and making a significant contribution to the further digitalization of the Netherlands. The first addresses will be able to use internet via fiber optic starting from June 2023.

ODF and Liander join forces for sustainable infrastructure
On November 16, 2023, the grid operator Liander and ODF signed a collaboration agreement. This agreement establishes uniform work procedures for telecommunication and/or pipelines in project areas of ODF where Liander has energy infrastructure. The main goal of the collaboration agreement is to prevent damages to the underground infrastructure as much as possible in the future.

ODF's fiber network reaches milestone of 1 million households
Open Dutch Fiber (ODF) is building an open fiber optic network at record speed, and they have now reached the milestone of 1 million fiber optic connections. The company, founded in April 2021, initially aimed to connect 1 million Dutch households within 5 years, but has already achieved this in just 2.5 years. The company, which aims to contribute to accelerating digitalization, has already increased its ambition earlier this year to reach 2 million fiber optic connections by 2025.
