In Enkhuizen and Stede Broec, over 18,000 households will have access to superfast internet via fiber optic from Open Dutch Fiber. It is expected that the first households will be able to use internet via fiber optic from June 2023. Open Dutch Fiber is once again connecting a large area to fiber optic and making a significant contribution to the further digitalization of the Netherlands.

Freedom of choice in fiber provider as ambition

The open nature of the ODF network is therefore one of the cornerstones of the organization's success. Unlike other fiber networks, ODF is not an operator or provider itself, but instead provides all operators and thus providers in the Netherlands access to its fiber services. On 30 November 2023, Open Dutch Fiber signed the Code of Conduct for Safe Construction of Digital Infrastructure. With the Code of Conduct, we will work more closely with contractors and other telecom network managers and operators to promote safety in the construction of data and telecom networks.
